Job Title: Interior Designer

Department: Design & Creative / Architecture

Reports To: Lead Interior Designer / Creative Director

Job Purpose

The Interior Designer conceptualizes, plans, and executes functional, aesthetic, and sustainable interior spaces for residential, commercial, or bespoke project contexts. This role translates client visions into detailed spatial plans, material palettes, 3D visualizations, and technical working drawings while managing budgets and site execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Concept Development & Space Planning

  • Develop spatial layouts, mood boards, color schemes, and material boards aligned with project requirements and brand guidelines.

  • Conduct site measurements, spatial assessments, and feasibility studies.

2. Design, Technical Drawings & 3D Visualization

  • Produce detailed 2D technical drawings (floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and joinery details) using AutoCAD/Sketchup.

  • Create high-quality 3D renders, walkthroughs, and material visualizations using SketchUp.

3. Material Sourcing & Specification

  • Select and specify furniture, fixtures, millwork, soft furnishings, lighting, finishes, and architectural hardware.

  • Collaborate with vendors, artisan workshops, and manufacturers for custom furniture, custom wardrobes, and bespoke joinery solutions.

4. Site Execution & Vendor Coordination

  • Supervise on-site implementation, coordinating directly with architects, contractors, MEP consultants, and specialized craftsmen to maintain quality control.

  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure execution complies with approved working drawings, project timelines, and quality standards.

5. Client Communication & Project Management

  • Present design proposals, material swatches, and budget estimates directly to clients.

  • Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), track project budgets, manage procurement schedules, and resolve site challenges proactively.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.

  • Experience: 3-6 years of hands-on experience in residential or commercial interior design.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, and SketchUp

    • Working knowledge of spatial proportions, ergonomics, lighting design, and material characteristics (e.g., natural timber, stone, fabrics, glass).

  • Core Competencies:

    • Strong aesthetic eye with high attention to detail, proportion, and finish quality.

    • Excellent client presentation, verbal communication, and visual storytelling abilities.

    • Deep understanding of millwork details, joinery construction, and site execution workflows.
